At only four years-old, Josh was introduced to the thrills and spills of motorsport through motor-cross, in which he still has a keen interest today. Having developed an appetite for all things motor racing, Josh decided to make the switch from two wheels to four in the form of kart racing to see whether his passion and skill would transfer. As many expected, his abilities went from strength-to-strength and within a very short period of time Josh became regarded as a talented and fiery young driver. After winning multiple karting titles in the UK, the 21 year old from Derbyshire counts just one of his career highlights as coming 2nd at the St Petersburg USF2000 Grand Prix last year during his debut race weekend in the formula.
For this season Josh has made the decision to come back to Europe and race in the F4 Eurocup Championship. As he graduates through the rounds of the F4 Eurocup throughout the 2011 season (formerly part of the World Series by Renault), Josh will always be thinking of his main goal; to advance on to Indy Car racing. Many would not hesitate in saying that it’d be inevitable for the young star to achieve this aim, as he has always been known for driving on ‘the ragged edge’ of his cars ability. By signing up to the Auto Sport Academy, Fielding is now setting himself new challenges and hopes that through his single seater racing, he will be able to do another thing that he enjoys; visiting new places whilst also keeping himself at the peak of his physical fitness so he can be the best on track.
